Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan stated, blood donation is a generous way in helping people.

"Blood donation is a generous way in helping people which is done wholeheartedly," he said when having a friendly meeting (silaturahmi) with 182 blood donors who have done blood transfusion for 100 times or more at City Hall, Sunday (2/11).

Meanwhile, Jakarta PMI Head, Muhammad Ali Reza informed, Jakarta needs around 800-1,000 packs of blood every day. PMI tries to keep optimizing Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) to fulfill the needs of blood.
"Jakarta PMI UTD has attempted to enhance its service, quality, and maintain the blood quantity," he explained.
For information, 182 blood donors from Jakarta who have done 100 blood donations or more have been awarded Satyalancana Kebaktian Sosial. There are 176 men and 6 women who get this award.
This award was directly given by Indonesia President, Joko Widodo, at Istana Bogor on December 2017. The youngest blood donor is Yudi Susanto at the age 31 years and the oldest is Zulkifli Ibrahim at the age 72 years.
