Presidential Election in East Jakarta Runs Conducive

The situation of 2014 presidential election in East Jakarta on Wednesday (7/9) since morning until noon is very conducive. There was no sign of unrest among the supporters of the two presidential and vice presidential candidates.

Chief of Jakarta Metro Resort Police, Sr. Comr. Mulyadi Kaharni disclosed last night, police had conducted patrol in some polling stations (TPS), and there was no potential for unrest. One of those areas is Cipinang Prison.

To safeguard the election, as many as 1,169 personnel are deployed to 3,229 TPSs in 10 sub-districts. They consist of sector, resort, city police until BKO (under operational control) from national police headquarter.

"We've conducted monitoring last night until this noon. We thank all people who have participated in maintaining the security and comfort of their neighborhood," he stated, while safeguarding the Cipinang Prison in the Class IA, Wednesday (7/9).

People are very enthusiastic to cast voting rights. The indication is, the entire TPSs are crowded by locals where their hands clasped invitation card from the General Elections Commission (KPU) to use their voting rights.

He urged citizens to maintain situation orderly until vote counting is done.

While at TPS 066 Cipinang Besar Selatan, precisely in Cipinang Prison at Class 1A, all prisoners also flocked to cast their voting rights. There are about 2,544 final voters lists (DPT), but only 1,576 out of 2,910 prisoners conduct vote. The prison side prepares 10 TPSs thus all prisoners can vote on time.
