Community-based Total Sanitation in Kebon Jeruk Launched

The Community-based Total Sanitation (STBM) was launched in Sukabumi Utara Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district, Monday (2/12). The launching was attended by West Jakarta mayor, TP PKK chairperson, related UKPD leader.

In his speech, West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Efendi disclosed that it was aimed to make the residential neighborhood of residents in Sukabumi Utara Urban Village that is clean and healthy.

"By so, there will be no more residents of Sukabumi Utara Urban Village who throw water and trash carelessly," he expressed.

West Jakarta Health Sub-dept. Head, Anas, targeted 15 out of 56 urban villages to be arranged for total sanitation.

Kebon Jeruk Sub-district Head, Abdullah explained, in Sukabumi Utara area, it is been built communal septic tanks at seven points that are financed independently. Thus there is no longer a large drainage flowing into Pesanggrahan River.

"By the end of this year, six urban villages in Kebon Jeruk are targeted to be able to realize the improvement of total sanitation in densely populated areas," he stated.
