Council Supports City Extending Contract of Clean Water

City DPRD is supporting Jakarta Provincial Government's step to extend cooperation contracts related to water supply along with Tanggerang District Government.

"Water problems can't be partial. It must be integrated all, as water is vital. All people should be able to access it," expressed Yuke Yurike, Member of City DPRD's Commission B, Tuesday (2/13).

Groundwater Use must Be Supervised Tightly

Despite some areas have been connected to clean water pipes, he stated, there are still some people who need water supply.

"Thus far the cooperation has been going well to ensure the clean water supply in Jakarta is guaranteed," she expressed.

In the meantime, City DPRD's Commission B Secretary, Darussalam admitted, the extension of this cooperation is necessary to ensure a clean water source for the residents safe.

"In future, Jakarta is hoped able to have a reservoir like Tangerang so it doesn't depend on the buffer zone," he mentioned.
