90 Kemayoran Urban Village Families Utilize Communal IPAL

Communal Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) construction at RW 07, Kemayoran Urban Village, Central Jakarta has completed. This IPAL now can be used for 90 families from RT 08 and 09.

Kemayoran Urban Village Head, Bangun Manalu conveyed, IPAL construction has completed in last December. Hopefully residents can use IPAL well because many houses are not installed with certain channel to process wastewater.

He explained, in sanitation system mechanism, there are 11 ponds used for filter processing to produce clear water
First processing ponds, called inlet, has diameter 1x1.5 meters. Wastewater from first pond will be flowed to main pond with diameter 4x3 meters.
"After passing the first step, wastewater will enter hanging tank which divided water into 8 channels with diameter 1x3.2 meters. That pond is equipped with anaerobes bacteria to unravel waste," he stated.
After that, water will enter final deposition pond, then entered outlet where the filtered water will be pumped to be discharged into channel.
Meanwhile, Yeti (50) resident of RT 08 admitted happy with communal IPAL existence. Filtered wastewater will be not contaminated her environment.
"Former IPAL hole is installed with therapy stones. Not only IPAL that is beneficial, but former IPAL hole also can be used by residents for feet therapy every morning and afternoon," he added.
