Two Communal IPALs in Rawa Badak Selatan Ready to Operate

Two units of communal Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) in Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village, Koja, North Jakarta are ready to operate. These units are built with aid from Islamic Development Bank (IDB) funds.
Wastewater from each houses will be connected to IPAL through pipes
North Jakarta Regional Council Head, Bambang Setiono informed, two IPAL are located at RT 08 and RT 03 of RW 01, Rawa Badak Selatan. IPAL at RT 08 will serve 76 people while at RT 03 will serve 63 people.

He added, pipes that connect house and IPAL main pipe have 3 inches and 4 inches diameter. While main pipe has six inches diameter.
He explained, wastewater from main pipe will be filtered into 40x40 cm tube called gas trap. Wastewater that contains of oil, soap, and fat will be filtered in that gas trap.
Filtered water will be collected in three tanks. Those tanks have different functions; to sort out bacteria, to purify water, and to store clear water. "Water filtration result can be used again later," he s tated.
