Today, Cipinang Lontar Flyover Trialed

Today Cipinang Lontar flyover, East Jakarta, is trialed. After trial period is ended, it will be evaluated before being applied permanently.

We will test it for one to three weeks

"We will test it for one to three weeks. We will make it permanent if there is no problem with it. Cipinang Lontar flyover is operated for road users' safety and comfort," said Yusmada Faizal, Head of Jakarta Bina Marga Dept., on the location, Tuesday (2/27).

Traffic Engineering Applied During Cipinang Lonter Flyover Trial

Cipinang Lontar flyover construction takes around 12 months to complete. It has 550 meters long with 13 meters wide which connects Jalan Bekasi Timur and Jalan Raya Bekasi. In the future, vehicles will not pass railway crossing but this flyover.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept.'s Traffic Section Head, Andreas Eman added, 15 personnel are deployed to manage the traffic. Those personnel join with police officer to guide vehicles on flyover.

He considered this flyover could reduce traffic congestion in the area for about 40 percent if it could be operated permanently.

"We continue to monitor its development since it is still on trial. Traffic signs also have been installed to facilitate road users," he stated.

His side also conducts traffic engineering in some spots connected to flyover. But railway crossing is not closed yet. Regarding to this, his side wants to discuss it with related sides first.
