Assistant for Jakarta Development and Environment Secretary, Gamal Sinurat said, from 77 lakes and reservoirs in Jakarta, most of the water is currently contaminated with household waste and garbage.

Gradually, revitalization of lakes and reservoirs will also be done, such as in eastern Sunter Lake.
"Therefore Jakarta Provincial Government is about to revitalize the lake and reservoir, including intensifying the importance of the IPAL infrastructure in the household," he stated.
