Kartini Underpass Decreases 90 Percent Vehicle Queue

Jakarta Transportation Dept. (Dishub) ensures Kartini Underpass in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta can reduce 90 percent of vehicle queue.

Now, vehicle queue has reduced by 90 percent

It is because Dishub has removed traffic light in intersection.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Andri Yansyah said, vehicles will not queue because of traffic light again after underpass is opened.

Officers Will Be Alerted at Kartini Underpass Construction

"Now, vehicle queue has reduced by 90 percent," he stated after Kartini Underpass inauguration on Wednesday (2/28).

Based on one-week trial evaluation, he explained, previously vehicles are queuing up to 534 meters from north to south in morning, but after underpass starts to operate, there is no vehicles queue.

Previously, west to east queue was also 301 meters long but now it becomes 28 meters. While west to south queue from 215 meters into 20 meters.

Then queue from east to west and north is previously 738 meters into 36 meters. While queue from north to south in afternoon was 779 meters and now becomes no vehicle queue.

From west to east direction, vehicle queue was 384 meters and it reduced into 29 meters. Then from west to south direction is from 377 meters into 30 meters. While queue from east to west and north direction is from 682 meters into 36 meters now.

"Vehicle queue from all directions is not hampered again now. We don't talk about traffic jam, but vehicle queue," he stated.
