City Supports Reduction of Greenhouse Emissions

Jakarta Provincial Government is supporting a 30 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions up to 2030.

Support given is based on Gubernatorial Regulation No. 131/2012 on Local Action Plans for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction

According to Oswar Mungkasa, City Deputy for Spatial Planning and Environment, his party supports Indonesia's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 

"Support given is based on Gubernatorial Regulation No. 131/2012 on Local Action Plans for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction," he expressed, when he attended the Ambitious City Promises Indonesia National Program Meeting in the Meeting Room, Office of Presidential Special Affairs for Climate Change Control, Jalan Teuku Umar No. 10-12 Gondangdia, Monday (2/5).

He added this support is supported with the effort of Jakarta Provincial Government in the addition of Green Open Space (RTH), urban agriculture, and RPTRA.

In that occasion, Rachmat Witoelar, Indonesian Presidential Envoy for Climate Change appreciates the city's effort in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Jakarta. Talanoa dialogue that has been done other countries including Indonesia, is hoped to be a forum of dialogue all parties to support the reduction of emissions.

"Jakarta has committed and concrete actions to support the achievement of national emission reduction. Hopefully the other cities do the same," he uttered.
