Road and Sidewalk Arrangement on Jl. Sudirman-Thamrin Socialized

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan opens socialization and gives explanation regarding Jl. Sudirman and Jl. MH. Thamrin sidewalk and road arrangements at City Hall, Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

The point is, we want this sidewalk to be interaction and education mediums for citizen

He mentioned, current road and sidewalk arrangement designs are different with the former concept.

"I am directly involved in every detail of this planning," he stated, Tuesday (3/6).

Sudirman-Thamrin Sidewalk Arrangement Design Revision Completed

According to him, Jl. Sudirman and Jl. MH. Thamrin sidewalk arrangement will give space for cultures arts. This sidewalk will be equipped with mini stage thus street artists can show their talents in arts.

"We want pedestrians and drivers who pass by can be entertained with this cultural arts performance," he explained.

He explained, this sidewalk will be also equipped with other facilities, such as toilette and road signs.

"The point is, we want this sidewalk to be interaction and education mediums for citizen," he expressed.

Moreover, he appreciates and invites building owners around Jl. Sudirman-MH. Thamrin to participate for the succession of this plan and tolerate discomfort during sidewalk and road arrangement projects are in progress.

"I hope this arrangement becomes a pilot for not only in Indonesia, but also in Asia," he added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Bina Marga Dept. Head, Yusmada Faizal mentioned, sidewalk arrangement is done for 6.6 kilometers long with varies width between 8-13 meters

"Total budget is Rp 180 billion. We target this arrangement to complete before Asian Games XVIII event," he stated.
