Residents Ask to Elevate Jl. Otista Sidewalk

Bidara Cina Urban Village Residents, Jatinegara, East Jakarta propose to elevate sidewalk along Jalan Otista Raya. Because almost every day the sidewalk is used by street vendors (PKL)s as their selling spot.

RW 12 Bidara Cina Head, Fauzi Sarmada mentioned sidewalk has the same level with road thus it is usually used for illegal parking and selling spot by PKL.

"We hope for solution, whether to elevate sidewalk level or install dividers to prevent illegal parking and PKL. Because it looks slum and chaotic everyday," he explained, Wednesday (3/7).

Responding to this, East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana said his side will follow up this complaint.

"Immediately, I will coordinate with related units because Jalan Otista sidewalk needs to be re-arranged. Most part of it is damaged due to many cars and bikes park on it since its position is low," he stated
