LH Dept. Launches Electronic Waste Pick Up Service

Jakarta Environment (LH) Dept. launches electronic waste pick up (e-waste) service for Jakartans.

We will collect it through sub-district, urban village, or we will pick it up directly for free

Jakarta LH Dept. Deputy Head, Ali Maulana Hakim said, e-waste service is a free service for all residents in Jakarta to suppress electronic waste volume. Especially for big capacity electronic waste such as refrigerator, television, and washing machine. 

"We will collect it through sub-district, urban village, or we will pick it up directly for free," he mentioned, Wednesday (3/14).

He explained, residents can  get this service by reporting to local urban village office. Residents can also request it through Jakarta Smart City or service 112 by phone.

"It can also be requested through official medial social of Jakarta LH Dept.," he added.

According to him, electronic waste can be dangerous for environment if it is not handled carefully. Because the waste contains of many particles which are potential to pollute land and environment.

"Such as lead, toxic, and metal contents from electronic waste are potential to pollute surrounding environment," he conveyed.
