South Jakarta Government will hold Lenong Betawi Festival on March 28-29 in order to introduce lenong art and to preserve Betawi culture.
This year, we will hold it again as well as to preserve Betawi culture
South Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. Head, Narsyam Daoed said, the festival will be held in Menteng Atas Urban Village Office's yard, Jalan Menteng Pulo Raya, Setiabudi.
Sandi Opens Betawi Cultural Creation at City Hall"At first, it is planned to be held at Lapangan Blok S. But, we change its location because we want it to be closer to residents," he explained, Monday (3/19).
He conveyed, Lenong Betawi Festival will be held from 5 PM to finish and it will be opened by South Jakarta Mayor, Tri Kurniadi. South Jakarta Government plans to make it as routine event because that event was not held for last few years.
"This year, we will hold it again as well as to preserve Betawi culture," he said.
He hopes many people will attend to this festival. His side has also prepared various prizes, such as coaching fund, trophies, and certificates.
