Vice Gov. Surveys Matraman Underpass Construction

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno surveyed Matraman Underpass project construction, Central Jakarta, Thursday (3/22) night.

According to the plan, this 658 meters underpass will be tested on April 1.

"One more work from Bina Marga and it will be tested on April 1. I have checked its preparation before," he said at the location.

March, Bintaro Flyover & Matraman Underpass Completed

He predicted, traffic jam in the location could reduce to 25-30 percent because of this underpass. Moreover this underpass is made branched that leads to Kampung Melayu and Pramuka.

According to him, there are several obstacles in underpass construction. Such as bore pile from Pramuka Flyover which is located above it. Thus underpass road should be deflected thus it will not damage the bore pile. 

He continued, underpass also only can be built up to nine meters due to clean water operator's pipe located near the site. Because of that condition, water is keep flowing from the ground thus underpass wall should be coated.

"Alhamdulillah until today there has been no disruption to work safety and health," he expressed.

At the same location, Jakarta Bina Marga Dept. Head, Yusmada Faizal explained, this underpass is made for 658 meters long and divided into two lane branches with 7 meters wide for each lane.

"Underpass wall is designed with jasmine and gigi balang patterns," he said.
