East Jakarta Government commemorates World Tuberculosis (TBC) Day on Tuesday (3/27).

In commemorating World TBC Day, West Jakarta Health Sub-dept. Head, Weningtyas Purnomo Rini informed, her side opens medical check up for Cengkareng Timur Urban Village residents and hold TBC prevention and controlling campaign in puskesmas and hospital.
She continued, Health Sub-dept. also forms TBC working units in Taman Sari Sub-district and cough monitoring cadres (Jumantuk).
Within three weeks of TBC Day commemoration, her side has found screening contact of 4,530 people that have TBC symptoms. It is confirmed, they are positive of TB bacteria and 180 people have been cured.
"West Jakarta has reached 99 percent of its target in providing health service for TBC patients, with 88 percent of success rate in handling the disease from case findings, and 84 percent of treatment success," she explained.
