Special Team Formed to Monitor THR Payment in W. Jakarta

The West Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Sub-Department is going to form a special team to monitor the payment of Eid ul Fitr bonus (THR) by each company, in order to meet its obligations under the applicable employment laws.

We do this to help employees to get their rights on time, thus the can prepare anything for Eid ul Fitr celebration

According to Suhari, Head of West Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Sub-Department, each company must pay THR to employee at least 7 days before Eid ul Fitr. That is why, special team was formed.

THR Payable 7 Days Prior to Eid ul Fitr

"The team will monitor the THR payment, either in the field or via cell phone to companies whether they have paid THR or not. We do this to help employees to get their rights on time, thus the can prepare anything for Eid ul Fitr celebration," he expressed, Monday (7/14).

In addition, his sub-department also open a complaint post on THR payment. "This is conducted to prevent unruly companies that reluctant to pay THR to their employees," he asserted.

In West Jakarta, there are about 4,000 companies with 126,000 people. They engaged in garment industry, automobile, services, shopping centers, offices, etc.

The THR nominal already set in applicable regulations, in which employees or workers who have had working period of 1-2 months or more will be given THR amounting to salary in one month. While for those who have working period less then 12 months would get THR proportionally.

"If the companies are not paying THR, they will be reported or given sanction," he told.
