Sandi Wants Perda to Be Socialized Intensively to Prevent Illegal Parking

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno wants Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 5/2014 about Transportation and Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 188/2016 about Public Parking Area Managed By Regional Government to be more intensively socialized.

He hopes public will be more educated through intense socialization thus they will not park their vehicles in inappropriate places.

"We need to intensify our socialization thus people will understand the contents of related Perda," he stated, Monday (4/9).

225 Vehicles Netted in E. Jakarta Lintas Jaya Operation

According to him, Jakarta Transportation Dept. should be able to enforce Perda against the road users who violate the regulations.

"I appreciate their work in controlling vehicles without discrimination, including in elite areas," he expressed.

He added, Jakarta Provincial Government will be more concern about parking space needs. Thus his side needs to manage and arrange parking system.

"Parking still needs further arrangements. So I hope people could understand that. We will arrange parking on street better," he said.
