City Supports Sepak Takraw's Athletes Coaching

Jakarta Provincial Government supports sepak takraw athlete training and development.

Jakarta Provincial Government will facilitate their needs

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno hopes this training can produce talented sepak takraw athletes.

"We hope they can bring achievements and make us proud. Jakarta Provincial Government will facilitate their needs," he stated after receiving Persatuan Sepak Takraw Indonesia (PSTI) administrators at City Hall, Tuesday (4/10).

Jakarta KONI Insists on Improving Athlete's Performance

According to him, sepak takraw is one of the popular sports in Southeast Asia. He hopes this sport can encourage residents to be more interested in sport since it is a part of healthy lifestyle.

"Sepak takraw is very close with melayu culture, our culture. This sport is identical with teamwork and agility," he added.

Meanwhile, PSTI Organization Division First Head, Gunawan Hadi is welcoming Jakarta Provincial Government's support. For example is for allowing Cendrawasih Stadium, Cengkareng, West Jakarta to be used for Sepak Takraw Menpora Cup 2018.

"Currently, there are two sepak takraw athletes from Jakarta who are joined Pelatnas," he said.
