Mobile SPBGs to Serve Jakartans Soon

Jakarta Provincial Government is currently seeking for cooperation with PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) to provide the supply of compressed natural gas (CNG), locally known as BBG, for Jakartans in form of gas-filling stations (SPBG) construction as well as Mobile Re-fuelling Units (MRU) or mobile SPBGs procurement.

For MRU, it can be located in Harmoni, for instance, where there is an empty space. It can also be located in Banteng Court, it doesn’t matter, but only for temporary,” stated Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama at City Hall, Wednesday (7/16).
According to Basuki, Jakarta Provincial Government also offers cooperation through pay-rent system in gas pipe installation to supply household needs. Jakarta becomes pilot of gas city because gas supply in the capital city is decreasing day by day.
Basuki: PT Jakpro Must Join in SPBG Procurement“In the future, developers must also provide gas pipes in houses or apartments they built. Principally, we are ready whenever PGN wanted to realize gas supply in the capital city,” he said.
Earlier, in a meeting with Basuki, PGN President Director, Hendi Prio Santoso, explained PGN’s advance in natural gas infrastructure development in Jakarta in making the capital city as role model of gas city in Indonesia.
“Until now, PGN has had natural gas distribution pipes network in Jakarta for as long as 701 kilometers. Until this year’s first semester, PGN has added gas network for as long as 60 kilometers,” he uttered.
In addition, Santoso disclosed that this year PGN will build six SPBGs and two MRUs in Jakarta. From that amount, one SPBG in Ketapang (PGN’s Head Office) and one MRU Depot B Cawang have finished built. The SPBG Ketapang serves PGN operational vehicles, while MRU Cawang serves TransJakarta buses.
As for remaining SPBGs which still being built, they are SPBG Ancol, SPBG MIRA 24, SPBG Kalideres 1, SPBG Pulogebang, SPBG and Kalideres 2. This SPBGs construction is part of 16 SPBGs construction to be built by PGN this year in Surabaya, Bogor, and Sukabumi.
