A number of waterways in Senayan area, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda and Jalan Asia Afrika, Gelora, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta will be widened. It is purposed to prevent puddles on the streets that is currently being re-paved.
Gelora Urban Village Head, Mediawati said, one of the causes of inundation in both streets is because of waterways that have not been able to accommodate water when it rains.

After the sidewalk repair is done, the waterways cannot accommodate water optimally.
Responding on this matter, Yudha, Section Head of Bridge and Street for Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept. said his side will soon coordinate with Bina Marga Dept.
"We'll forward this issue to the dept. to do repair before the Asian Games," he stated.
