KPKP Dept. Ensures Food Price will Be Stable in Upcoming Ramadan

Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept. is optimistic that nine staple foods (sembako) price can be stable for upcoming Ramadan in Jakarta.

Jakarta KPKP Dept. Head, Darjamuni said, his side has supplied a huge amount of food and cheap food quota for Jakartans.

Ahead of Ramadan, Staple Food Stocks in Jakarta Safe

"Moreover, in our monitoring for these two years, there is no soaring price as happened years before," he stated at City Hall, Wednesday (4/25).

He also conveyed, his side and Jakarta BUMDs in food sector have coordinated to ensure food stock is safe until Eid. Food stock that he mentioned consists of rice, egg, cooking oil, sugar, chili, onion, and garlic.

"We have stocked all of it in PT. Food Station Tjipinang warehouse with total volume 40 thousand tons," he explained.

But he admitted will keep monitoring food price until three weeks ahead of Ramadan to ensure no one raises food price in market.

"Price hikes issue is one thing that needs to be concern, but we have anticipate it," he stated.
