Ahok: Jokowi Wins, Residents Allow Me Lead Jakarta

The winning non-active Jakarta Governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo on the vote counting of the Presidential Election in the capital is deemed to have meaning. A rumor that saying Jakarta residents do not vote Jokowi to be a presidential candidate thus Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama cannot become a new governor is not true.

"People who vote Jokowi exactly know if he wins, I will be a governor. That means, more than 50 percent people would vote me," said Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama, at City Hall, Thursday (7/17).

Basuki acknowledged he did not know whether Jakarta residents want him back to run for governor candidate in the 2017 Gubernatorial Election or not. Nevertheless, he wants Jokowi lost and returned to governor.

KPU Begins Vote Recapitulation for City Level

As known, based on the results of vote recapitulation on the 2014 Presidential Election in five municipalities and one regency in Jakarta on Wednesday (7/16), the pair of Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla got the higher vote or 2,861,417 votes and followed by Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa with 2,528,773 votes.

From that, a total valid vote is reaching 5,390,190 votes. The pair of Prabowo-Hatta win in South and East Jakarta, while Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla triumphed in Seribu Islands, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and Central Jakarta.
