Delayed, Vote Counting Recapitulation Moved to KPU office

Rain of protests voiced by political parties makes the 2014 legislative election vote counting recapitulation held by Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) delayed. As a result, the recapitulation which previously held in Borobudur Hotel, Thursday (4/24), had to be continued in KPU office on Jalan Budi Kemuliaan, Central Jakarta, Friday (4/25).

Head of Jakarta KPU, Sumarno, admitted that the vote counting recapitulation is still not finished until the determined time. “The recapitulation is continued to Jakarta KPU office,” he stated.

For information, the recapitulation was initially held in Grand Manhattan Room on the third floor of Borobudur Hotel, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta. But since the place’s renting time was only two days, April 23-24, the recapitulation is finally moved to KPU office. While for the ratification of seats for political parties and selected Jakarta legislative council (DPRD) candidates, it will be determined on May 11-13.

KPU to Begin Vote Recapitulation for Provincial Level Today

Regarding the protests, one of them was voiced by Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Winning Board Secretary, Denny Iskandar, who questioned East Jakarta KPU votes. In the municipality, there were 34 polling stations (TPU) in Cipinang Prison and 117 polling stations in Cipinang Besar Utara. And in those polling stations, there were no original holographic C1 forms, but there were only copies of it.

Until now, KPU has not issued the official result of total votes collected by political parties. As for the result of votes collected for Regional Representatives Council (DPD), the first rank is achieved by Fahira Idris by 511,323 votes and followed by AM Fatwa 475,601 votes, Dailami Firdaus 416,929 votes, Abdul Azis Khafia 368,379 votes, and Sabam Sirait 237,273 votes. The total votes for Jakarta DPD election reaches 4,052,141 votes.
