City Focuses on Maintaining Food Price Stabilization

Jakarta Provincial Government continues to focus on maintaining price stability and food stocks, especially ahead of the big religious days.

Food problem is also our priority for Jakartans

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno expressed, efforts to maintain stability in stock and food prices is the responsibility of the central and local governments.

"Food problem is also our priority for Jakartans," he stated, after he led coordination meeting (rakor) about stability of staple goods ahead of Ramadan and Eid ul Fitr this year, at City Hall, Monday (5/14).

Staple Food Price will Back to Normal

The city continues to synergize with the central government, either it is through Trade Ministry or Agriculture Ministry. Aside that, they also have formed food clusters in order to more focus on maintaining the stability and stock price of food.

"Food cluster is routinely monitoring and checking staple foods. We want food prices to remain stable," he exclaimed.

Trade Ministry secretary general Srie Agustina uttered there are four ministry's steps conducted and followed by other provinces in maintaining staple foods. They are structuring of implementation, strengthening regulation, monitoring and supervision, as well as special efforts.

"The cooperation with the city is made well. Food prices in Jakarta are stable and controlled, just need to be optimized thus not to exceed the Highest Retail Price (HET)," he stated.
