Jakarta Targeted to Be Free of Tuberculosis in 2030

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan wants Jakarta to become the first province that is free of Tuberculosis (TB).

The statement is conveyed during the Joint Commitment event through Regional Action Plan Towards Jakarta Free TB at the Great Hall, City Hall, today.

"InsyaAllah (God willing), Jakarta can be the first to be free from tuberculosis. Because we signed the first deal compared to the others," he expressed, Monday (5/14).

He stated 37,000 cases of TB were rampant last year in the capital. Through the commitment signing along with SKPD today, the capital is targeted to be free from TB totally in 2030.

"In 2030, we hope the program can be realized. We've issued its gubernatorial regulation. The related SKPD must execute it," he told.

In the meantime, Jakarta Health Dept. Head, Koesmadi added, to get the target, his party intends to intensify gerebek program towards TB in each RT.

"But we also urge people to routinely check up their health at the nearest the community health center (puskesmas), do not wait to get sick," he stated.
