"Finally we can realize and see the international collaboration between BUMD companies with locals. This is really public, private, people partnership," he expressed.

After it is operated, ITF will be able to manage 2,220 tons of garbage every day or more than 25 percent of the total garbage produced by Jakarta, which is 7,000 tons per day.

Not only that, the technology used in ITF will also process garbage into electricity. It is estimated that every day the incinerator is capable of producing 35 megawatts of electricity per day.

"InsyaAllah (God willing), it will become a new breakthrough of garbage processing, thus Jakarta will be cleaner in the future, and the economy will move and create more jobs for Jakarta residents," Sandi said.

Jakarta Environment Dept.'s Integrated Garbage Management Unit Head, Asep Kuswanto added, it needs three years to complete the entire development until the ITF can operate.

Currently his side is awaiting issuance of the environmental impact analysis (Amdal) before carrying out the physical construction of the main part of the building

"Hopefully it can be issued in the forthcoming August," he hoped.
