Anies Exposes Jakarta Readiness in Implementing Asian Games

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, delivered Jakarta's readiness in implementing the Asian Games XVIII in a Limited Meeting (Ratas) led by a member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), Agum Gumelar.

After the meeting, Anies expressed things that become the city tasks will be completed in accordance with the schedule.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), of all the tasks assigned to us, we are ready," he stressed, at the office of Pertimbangan President Council, Jalan Veteran III, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

In the upcoming June, Velodrome and Equestrian would be complete. And BMX venue will be complete by the end of this month, Baseball field in July and LRT in August.

"For 10 GORs, it is now complete and ready to be used," he told.

According to him, beyond the assignment, Jakarta Provincial Government is about to hold arts and culture festival in Monas area.

"It becomes a promotional event and more promotes Asian Games. The concept is based on the movement, the people who do, the city will facilitate," he said.

In Asian Games, there will be eight venues that must be reached from the athlete's homestead. The nearest venue is in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta and the furthest is Golf Course in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta with a distance of about 42 kilometers.

"For the furthest route, we will use the toll lane with a special lane of athlete and official transportation vehicles," he explained. 

Then the even-odd policy will be applied at places that have Asian Games venues.

"It will begin by the end of July. It aims to make people get used to the situation one month before the event begins," he expressed. 

While for inner-city lane, it will also be prepared a special lane for the movement from athlete's homestead to Senayan area.

"PT Transjakarta will prepare 1,500 buses to serve people who want to witness the event," he expressed.

Aside that, traffic engineering around the location is also being prepared, simulation will be completed by the end of May

"Trial will be executed in June around venue," he told.
