LRT Phase II Project will Use KPDBU Scheme

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno ensured, light rail transit (LRT) Phase II project (Velodrome Rawamangun-Tanah Abang) will use scheme of cooperation local government with business entity/private parties (KPDBU).

Via solicited project concept, LRT becomes an infrastructure project initiated by the government and offered to business entity for cooperation. Later on, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) will act as the responsible partnership project (PJPK).

"We'll do trial and public consultation in early June 2018. It aims to get inputs, especially from the business world," he stated, after the presentation of LRT Phase II Document Delivery and Presentation by PT Jakpro, at City Hall, Wednesday (5/23).

The project itself is predicted to spend Rp 500-600 million USD.

Then about its financing, can be done via availability payment system or payment scheme on the availability of services. Thus, government will offer to the business entity to fully develop the construction of commercial infrastructure.

"Jakarta Provincial Government must also provide a possible combination of availability payments or we must increase the regional investment scheme (PMD) to PT Jakpro," he explained.

The city is committed to provide the best service to the people and LRT is a crucial infrastructure to help optimize Mass Rapid Transit (MRT).

In future, he added, LRT will support as a feeder from MRT (east-west) that will be initiated thus all transportation modes can be integrated.

"There should be incentives for residents to use MRT, LRT, and Transjakarta. The tariff has to compete thus people can move to public transportation," he expressed.

Meanwhile, PT Jakpro President Director, Satya Heragandhi stated, to attract investors, his party has socialized the LRT Phase II project, including, in relation to Gubernatorial Regulation No. 22/2018 on the Implementation of KPDBU in Provision of Infrastructure.

"We're optimistic that investors will be interested, thus it will make an auction in the future," he told.

In LRT Phase II, there will be additional station from six becomes ten stations.

"This project is very strategic, it becomes a transportation mode from and to the Tanah Abang commercial center," he said.
