Jakarta Government is appointed as one of Smart City Officer Chiefs for Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Smart Cities Network in Smart Cities Governance Workshop (SCGW) held on May 22-25, 2018.

Jakarta Communication Informatics and Statistic Dept. (Diskominfotik) Head, Dian Ekowati said, SCGW is the continuation of the 32nd ASEAN Summit that has been held on April 27. In that forum, Jakarta is appointed as one of Smart City Officer Chiefs together with developed cities from other countries.
"We are very grateful because Jakarta as the capital city has the equal position as other developed cities from various countries in the world," she expressed, Wednesday (5/23).

This event is also attended by representatives from Makasar Government and Banyuwangi Regency.
According to her, this event's main schedule is the agreement between 10 representatives from member countries and 26 pilot cities regarding The ASEAN Smart Cities Framework as a guide to facilitate smart city development in each cities.
"We share our programs that have been implemented in Jakarta," she mentioned.
Meanwhile, Director of Performance Evaluation and Capacity Building under Home Affairs Ministry's Regional Autonomy Directorate General (Dirjen Otda), Gunawan said, commitment to implement smart city in all regional government has been stated in ASEAN Smart City Network (ASCN) framework draft. This draft becomes reference for smart city development in ASEAN.
"Socialization and information dissemination about the importance of regional government transform into smart governance will be continued as a part of Home Affairs Ministry's duties," he stated.
