No Harmful Substance in Four Markets, Central Jakarta

The Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept. officers once again held examination towards hundreds of food samples from three commodities from four traditional markets and supermarkets.

261 samples are examined from three commodities in our lab.

Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept. Head, Bayu Sari Hastuti stated, sample was taken from Block III and IV of Senen Market, Cikini Ampiun Market, Gondangdia Market, and supermarket in Menteng area.

"261 samples are examined from three commodities in our lab. As a results, there is no found harmful substances or safe for consumption," he expressed, Thursday (5/31).

Of 261 samples, 116 out of them are agriculture commodity, 112 samples are from fishery commodity and 33 other samples are agriculture commodity. "Hopefully it can be maintained up to Eid. Considering the need of food stuff ahead of Eid is quite high," he said.

He also appeals to the public to firstly see or check the criteria of safe, healthy, whole and halal (ASUH) before buying, so it is not problematic for health.
