Jakarta Environment Dept. is purchasing Garbage Bin with 660 liters capacity made in Germany in order to modernize the process of garbage collection to be more effective and efficient.

Jakarta Environment Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji disclosed, it is in accordance with the needs analysis and purchased through e-purchasing system through e-catalog of Government Procurement Regulatory Agency (LKPP).

"The e-purchasing mechanism provides the government with the flexibility to choose the product that really suits the needs with the best price," he expressed, Sunday (6/3).

Each garbage bin is able to accommodate garbage generated approximately 330 residents or about 70 households.

It will be placed at the location passed by the dump trucks type compactor or equipped with press machines.

"The officer can push this wheeled bin to the location of the compactor truck and link it to its hydraulics, so the garbage will be lifted into the truck. Just like in the developed countries," he told.

As for the garbage collection lane that uses the cart of motorcycle cart, the garbage bin will be placed in TPS.

"In future, the garbage bin will support garbage in TPS, so it is closed and does not spread the smell," he said.
