Central Jakarta Installs Zebra Crossings in 10 Points of Roads

To minimize traffic accident, a number of zebra crossings for pedestrian crossing are installed at 10 points of roads. 

It has been in accordance with the needs of the community in the field

"Zebra crossing is targeted to be installed on all collector roads. Hopefully the motorist can be more careful when passing the zebra crossing, as it is the right of pedestrians," expressed Andreas Eman, Division Head of Traffic for East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept., Tuesday (6/5).

According to him, zebra crossings that have been installed are at the intersection of Lubang Buaya, on Jalan Raya Bogor, Jalan Raya Pondok Gede in front of SDN Dukuh 01, Jalan Raya Bina Marga in front of Cipayung Sub-district office, at the junction of Hek Kramat Jati, and Jalan Raya Ceger.

"It has been in accordance with the needs of the community in the field. Particularly from the citizens' proposals via Musrenbang and citizen mail,” he uttered.
