According to him, currently Jakarta Government is serious in preserving Jakarta local culture and arts, such as music, dance, and martial arts.
"Jakarta Government is very serious in preserving Betawi cultures from music, dance, and Betawi martial arts," he conveyed, Saturday (6/23).
He explained, government's seriousness in preserving Betawi cultures can be seen from releasing the new regulation that require government offices to install Betawi ornaments.
He also mentioned that recently Jakarta government has inaugurated Pasar Seni as Kampung Betawi.
He hopes Betawi musicians, dancers, and martial arts performers can be developed gradually since there are many Betawi cultural events held by private and government sides.
"In this Jakarta's 491st anniversary, I hope Betawi cultural arts can be more popular in public along with government's strong commitment for Betawi," he stated.
