Tonight, Phase I LRT Train Lifting Completed

The first phase Jakarta light rail transit (LRT) lifting for corridor I (Kelapa Gading-Velodorme), from Tanjung Priok towards Jalan Boulevard Raya Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta is targeted to be finished today, Sunday (7/15) night.

PT Jakarta Propertindo Presidential Director, Dwi Wahyu Daryoto said, eight trains had arrived at Tanjung Priok Port, Saturday (7/14). From that number, four of them have been brought to Kelapa Gading, Sunday (7/15) at dawn.

"This marks the completion of the entire production process of the train. We ensure the LRT trains has met the technical specifications and the safety factor," he expressed.

After arriving, there will be some adjustments to the traffic situation after certification process by the Ministry of Transportation.

"We continue to speed up the process of this infrastructure work. We continue to work every day thus train will be able to operate on target," he stressed.

PT Jakarta Propertindo's LRT Project Director, Allan Tandiono added eight units of trains are backup trains that will be used after the Asian Games.

The construction of phase I corridor (Kelapa Gading-Velodorme) has reached 77 percent. Predictably, it will finish by the upcoming August.

"Totally there are four flyover stations that have 5.8 kilometers in the first phase. And in the second phase, there will be other stations with 11.25 kilometers this year," he stated.
