Basuki Minta KPK Bongkar Kecurangan di Dinas P2B dan Tata Ruang

KPK Asked to Uncover Corruption Case in P2B Department

Jakarta Building Control Department and Jakarta Spatial Department just make (me) headache. Just catch all (involved in corruption acts)

Jakarta Provincial Government keeps intensively combating corruption practices in city governance. After finding cheating actions in vehicle road worthiness test at Kedaung Kali Angke Motor Vehicle Testing Center (PKB), West Jakarta, on Wednesday (7/23), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is also expected to uncover cheating practices in Jakarta Building Control Department and Jakarta Spatial Department.

“Both departments are always getting complaints from the citizens,” stated Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama, Thursday (7/24).

Jokowi to Take Firm Action Against Corrupt KIR Test Employees

According to Basuki, KPK findings on illegal levies for KIR test at Kedaung Kali Angke PKB center is not the first time. Previously, KPK have found illegal levies on flat management serving under the Housing and Government Buildings Department, which already followed by Jakarta Inspectorate. Some civil servants involved in the case will be fired.

“We thanked KPK. Previously, Jakarta Provincial Government thought KPK won’t help us. Whereas, this is part of (corruption) prevention in community services,” he uttered.

Basuki wants Jakarta Provincial Government to be a model of good governance for other provinces. Besides Jakarta Building Control Department and Jakarta Spatial Department, other regional working units (SKPD/UKPD) will also be investigated. If misuse of budget was found, it will be reported to the police and the civil servants involved will be fired.
