Anies Inaugurates Jakarta International Velodrome

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, inaugurated Jakarta International Velodrome in Rawamangun, East Jakarta. It will be the venue for bike racing at the XVIII Asian Games.

This velodrome is the best in Asia

Anies stated that it has received category I certification from the union cycliste internationale (UCI). That means, the bike-racing venue has the highest standards.

"This velodrome is the best in Asia. Today we are grateful that the long development project has been completed by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro)," he expressed, Wednesday (8/15).

He added that it becomes a pride, as in the end Indonesia, especially Jakarta has an international standard bike-racing venue.

"Once again, congratulations to all who have worked. It must be treated as well as good possible and more useful in the future," he stated.

After inauguration, Anies along with the athletes had the opportunity to ride on the Jakarta International Velodrome venue for several rounds.

As for the information, Jakarta International Velodrome began construction in 2016. The venue has a 250-meter track with a 40 degree slope. It can accommodate up to 3,000 spectators.
