Asian Games Torch Welcomed Merely at City Hall

The Asian Games torch is finally arrived at Jakarta City Hall with a rousing welcome from the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and Jakarta Provincial Government employees to local residents.

This is a long journey, and today the eternal fire has arrived in Jakarta

The torch was directly handed over by Ade Novriza, a former Taekwondo athlete to Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan.

Torch Relay Route in Cilandak Cleaned

Along with his daughter, Mutuara Annisa and his son, Ismail Hakim, Anies then carried the torch towards the podium.

Based on beritajakarta.id, in the torch relay group, there are Christian Hadinata, Imelda Gunawan, Nunung Jayadi, Shenny Ratna Amelia, and David Jacob.

There were also City DPRD Chairman, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, City Secretary, Saefullah, and SKPD leaders

He uttered that the torch had passed in various regions in Indonesia.

"This is a long journey, and today the eternal fire has arrived in Jakarta," he expressed, Wednesday (8/15).

It was witnessed by everyone with proud feeling. By so, all elements of Jakarta residents were ready to welcome the 2018 Asian Games.

"Jakarta is a charming host. Jakarta is a good host, let's welcome the implementation of the Asian Games," he uttered. 

In particular, he also expressed his grateful and appreciation to all those who have worked in preparing the torch relay event.

"So many Jakarta residents are involved, including in the villages that have decorated and beautified the environment as a sign of joy to welcome the Asian Games," he said.

As for the information, the torch itself was from the Mrapen eternal fire source, in Manggarmas Village, Godong Sub-district, Grobogan Regency, Central Java.

It was carried around 18 provinces and 64 cities in Indonesia, before the opening of the Asian Games on August 18, 2018.
