W. Jakarta Holds Noncommunicable Disease Early Examination

West Jakarta Government holds noncommunicable diseases (PTM) early examination at Nusa Indah RPTRA, Meruya Utara, Kembangan. This event is opened by West Jakarta Secretary, Eldi Andi and attended by West Jakarta TP PKK Leader, Inad Luciawaty.

Residents can check their breast and cervical health. It is free of charge

In his welcoming speech, Eldi Andi mentioned this event is held as collaboration between TP PKK at city and sub-district levels with Health Sub-dept. to do early examinations regarding breast cancer and cervical cancer.

"Death cases are mostly caused by breast cancer as the first rank and cervical cancer in second rank. Thus we must be intensive to suppress this noncommunicable diseases," he affirmed.

He also appreciates Pria Penjaga Rahim (Pijar) community which is formed in Kembangan Sub-district, West Jakarta.

According to him, this community could act as the front liners in detecting cervical cancer.

"I hope similar community can be formed in other seven sub-district thus number of deaths caused by cervical cancer can be detected early,"

West Jakarta TP PKK Leader, Inad Luciawaty added, this event will be also held in other seven sub-districts in West Jakarta.

"Residents can check their breast and cervical health. It is free of charge," she conveyed.

Meanwhile, Kembangan Sub-district Head, Agus Ramdani explained, Pijar community members are from RT/RW, FKDM, and LMK administrators who want to socialize their neighbors and families about breast and cervical early examination.

"It would be better for cervical cancer and breast cancer to be detected early because it has a greater chance to be cured. Husband should be also active thus these diseases could be detected early," he mentioned.
