City-Novo Nordisk Indonesia Establish Cooperation in Health Sector

Jakarta Provincial Government along with PT Novo Nordisk establishes cooperation in the field of health, namely, about the diabetes disease management through the cities changing diabetes program.

Hopefully the Memorandum of Understanding can be immediately followed up with concrete actions

The signing of the cooperation agreement was signed by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan with PT Novo Nordiks Indonesia Vice President, Morten Vaupel at Jakarta City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan expressed that it is a pride, as Jakarta became the first in Indonesia and the 17th in the world to join the cities changing diabetes program.

"Hopefully the Memorandum of Understanding can be immediately followed up with concrete actions to prevent and treat diabetes for Jakarta residents," he said, Friday (24/8).

He explained that the city is committed to providing sports facilities and infrastructure for the people, including by facilitating joint sports during Car Free Day on weekends.

"Through the facilities provided, it is hoped people are increasingly living a healthy lifestyle," he uttered.

As for the information, the international diabetes federation (FDI) estimates that there are 10.3 million people in Indonesia affected by diabetes. FDI predicts, without serious treatment, diabetics will increase to 16.7 million by 2045 with the majority of the population living in urban areas.
