This Year, Seribu Islands Regency Targeted to Plant 250 Dammar Trees

Seribu Islands Regency plants dammar trees in its regency. 250 trees are planned to be planted until the end of this year.

Seribu Islands Regent, Husein Murad together with Seribu Island Vice Regent, Ismer Harahap said, this agathis dammara tree is one of typical Indonesia plants. It is commonly used as ornamental plant, but dammar tree turns into shade tree when it is fully grown.

"There is Damar Island in Seribu Islands. Hopefully this tree can grow well and brings us blessings," he conveyed, Wednesday (9/19).

In the future, dammar trees will be planted in several Islands that still have enough area for planting. Since this tree can grow big, in order to plant it, his side needs to measure distance between trees.

"Our target is to plant 250 dammar trees this year," he stated.
