A cargo vessel burned on the waters outside Tanjung Priok Port, Friday (8/1), at 5.20 PM. There is no casualty reported in this incident.

Based on the information gathered, the vessel was sailing from Ujung Pandang, South Sulawesi, and scheduled to dock in Tanjung Priok Container Port. Unfortunately, the vessel carrying 20 crews was on fire when approaching the port, precisely 1.2 miles away.
Head of Tanjung Priok Port Office, Captain Arifin Soenardjo, said the fire originated from the vessel’s kitchen. In short time, the fire spread to stern and other rooms until entire vessel on fire.
