North Jakarta Environment Sub-dept. is proposing removal towards 230 official vehicles that were not operated because they were unroadworthy.
Most vehicles are trucks and made in 1985
North Jakarta Environment Infrastructures Section Head, Hendrik Mindo Sihombing stated that those vehicles consist of small-sized large arm trucks, big-sized compact trucks, shovels, germors, as well as small- and big-sized transport trucks.

He explained that the ideal age of vehicle life only about six years, especially dump trucks. It is because the acidic content of the transported garbage triggers corrosion more quickly.
Currently those vehicles are placed in the truck garages of the Environment Sub-dept. and its dormitory.
"Hopefully this proposal can be realized soon. If it is approved, garage area can be optimized to accommodate 30 trucks," he said.
