Council Supports Pasar Jaya Plan to Build Book Market

Jakarta Council (DPRD) supports Perumda Pasar Jaya plan to build Book Market in five Jakarta regions.

They sell books cheaper than normal price. Thus residents can feel the benefits from this PMD

Jakarta DPRD's Commission B Head, Abdurrahman Suhaimi assessed, one of the reason Perumda Pasar Jaya proposes additional fund on Regional Equity Participation (PMD) is to build Book Market which expects to give benefits to Jakartans.

"We already seen the benefits. They sell books cheaper than normal price. Thus residents can feel the benefits from this PMD," he stated, Thursday (9/27).

Meanwhile, Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin explained, his side proposes Book Market to be built in five Jakarta regions because he wants to encourage people's interest in reading.

"We will build Book Market similar to Jak Grosir in order to encourage people's interest in reading," he said.

For information, Perumda Pasar Jaya receives PMD fund Rp 166 billion from APBD 2018 Amendment draft. From that total fund received, Rp 66 billion will be allocated for Book Market construction in five Jakarta regions.
