Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, welcomed a visit and held a dinner with the 2018 Asian Para Games Indonesian delegates at Balairung, City Hall, Monday (10/8) night.

In his speech, he said that the experience of managing the Asian Para Games must be made a wake up call for all parties regarding the importance of accessible facilities.

"In reality there are still many facilities without having friendly facilities for people with disabilities. That's the fact. After this we have to go up, including the private sector involved," he expressed. 

He disclosed that the guests and athletes' reaction felt that Jakarta residents were very friendly. Especially for volunteers who are ready to accompany and prepare all the needs of athletes and officials from morning to night.

"I convey a sense of pride to the volunteers who have been chosen, as they are ambassadors and carry the good name of Indonesia," he expressed.

He added that public facilities and buildings in the capital would continue to be improved in accordance with the standards and friendly for people with disabilities.

"For instance is like what is the size of the door width and the slope of the ram for people with disabilities in Jakarta. If we don't have standards, we will come to the building wi th others different," he stated.
