Jakarta PPAPP Dept.'s P2TP2A UPT Head, Silvia stated, this socialization is conducted to educate residents and encourage them to avoid violence against women and children. This socialization educates residents about types and forms of violence against women and children. Besides, residents are expected to report any violence case to the authorities and accompany violence victims to report.
"This socialization is conducted simultaneously in five Jakarta regions thus more residents can know about ways to prevent violence against women and children," she said.
Socialization of Anti-Violence Against Women and Children IntensifiedHer side provides 12 complaint posts to collect resident's report regarding violence cases. Three of them are located in East Jakarta which are at Pulogebang Flat, Cipinang Besar Selatan Flat's RPTRA, and Tipar Cakung Flat.
"Residents who found any violence cases can report to the authorities immediately in order to give deterrent effect for the perpetrators. Residents can also report to Jakarta BPBD call center in 112, or text the report to 081317617622. We have handled 1,153 violence cases from January to September," she explained.
Halim Perdanakusuma Urban Village Head, Daniel Wisnu Parulian appreciates this activity because it educates his residents about what criteria or categories are meant by violence against women and children.
"We really appreciate this activity because it informs people where they should report violence cases happened against women and children," he mentioned.
