Anies Opens Jakarta MUI Meeting

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, opened the 2018 Indonesian Ulema Council meeting (Musda MUI), at Jakarta City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

He stated that the existence of MUI is very important, especially related to the benefit of Muslims in Jakarta.

"We hope Jakarta MUI can participate in responding to problems in the community," he said, Tuesday (10/9).

MUI Is Expected to Synergize with Government

It is hoped that the meeting can be an example for other organizations, especially those in Jakarta.

"The city is committed to support MUI," he told.

In the meantime, Jakarta MUI Chairman, Syarifuddin Abdul Gani expressed that Jakarta MUI was very grateful for the support given by the city government, especially to realize the benefit of the people.

"We are grateful, the relationship is very harmonious," he stated.

As for the information, the meeting itself takes theme "Increasing the Role of Ulema to Strengthen the Ukhuwah among people (brotherhood of fellow Muslims) in the NKRI Frame".

It is held at Grand Cempaka Hotel, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta on October 9-10, 2018. One of the Jakarta MUI Musda agenda is to determine the composition of Jakarta MUI Leadership Board for the period 2018-2023.
