Tornado, Damaged Houses in Cilincing Repaired

40 joint personnel of PPSU and PJLP under North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-dept. are sent to assist clean and repair the houses of residents affected by a tornado yesterday afternoon in RT 02/03 Semper Barat Urban Village, Cilincing.

So far the repair process has touched 50 percent

North Jakarta Environment Sub-dept. Head, Slamet Riyadi stated, based on the latest data, tornado destroyed 11 houses and 5 out of them are severely damaged.

City Ready to Build Houses for Tornado Victims

"Most of the roof and ceiling are damaged. The rest six houses are only a small portion damaged," he expressed, Wednesday (10/10).

To help the citizens, 40 officers of PJLP and PPSU are sent to the location.

"Hopefully they can lighten the burden of the victims," he stated.

Semper Barat Urban Village Head, Benhard Sihotang stated that his side has deployed PPSU officers who have competence. Of all PPSU officers deployed, 10 of them were certified as building construction capabilities.

"Building materials are collected from urban village, Environment Sub-dept. and locals. So far the repair process has touched 50 percent," he stated.
