36 Million Local Tourists Targeted to Visit Jakarta

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. is targeting 36 million local tourists to visit Jakarta this year.

"36 million tourists are targeted to visit our city this year," expressed Alberto Ali, Section Head of Information and Tourism Development, Tuesday (10/16).

From the target until September 2018, it has been noted that 24.3 million local tourists have visited Jakarta. While for foreign tourists are targeted to hit 2.8 million.

The data itself was from Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and from visits to a number of destinations in Jakarta.

"Of 2.8 million tourists, until August 2018, 1.8 million foreign tourists have visited Jakarta," he explained.

His party is still optimistic that the target will be achieved, as it is supported by big events in Jakarta, such as Asian Games 2018, Asian Para Games 2018, and Big Bang Jakarta 2018 that falls on November 22, 2018-January 1, 2019.

"I believe our target can be achieved," he stressed.
