Illegal Billboard on Jalan Gatot Subroto Torn Down

Due to expired license and tax arrears, a 8x16-meter billboard stood atop Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta was demolished by joint personnel of Cipta Karya, Spatial Planning, and Land Dept., Investment and PTSP Dept., Satpol PP, Fire and Rescue Dept., as well as Industry and Energy Dept.

Jakarta BPRD Acting Head, Syafruddin stated that it was done, as the billboard violated the bylaw number 9/2014 on ad implementation.

"We've sent warning letter thrice to ask the owner to demolish its billboard, but it is ignored. That's why we decide to do it ourselves," he expressed, Thursday (10/25).

Expired Billboard in Setiabudi Area Dismantled

It was done at night by implementing traffic engineering in a bid to anticipate traffic jam.

According to the data, there were more than 20 illegal billboards along Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto and will be demolished gradually.

"Those billboards will get a warning banner, considering they break the rules," he stated.
